These aren’t available all that often and the one shown in amethyst looks to be in great condition with all the parts. The one in cobalt (blue) looks a little worse for wear missing the tray and label. Oh the glass I would buy if I could 🙂

Cameo “Ballerina” or “Dancing Girl” cookie jar
By Hocking Glass Company, 1930-1934
This is a great classic cookie jar in a great classic pattern. Cameo has been described as a great example of a typical depression glass pattern. The pattern was made in four colors green, topaz (yellow), pink and crystal (clear). But not all of the pieces were made in all colors. The cookie jar it was only ever produced in green. There are a couple of people selling cookie jars in the cameo pattern that are pink/yellow/cobalt. These were miniatures made for children. Sometimes the scale in eBay post isn’t obvious so it’s good to know that these re out there.
One last thing, because of the elements they added to color green depression glass, this cooki jar glows under a black light.

Reconstructing Lamb
Someone broke a lamb figurine that my mom brought us from Israel. So I thought I’d try my hand at putting it back together.
Ceramic figurines that have broken into relatively large sized pieces are pretty easy to reconstruct. I start by looking for pieces that obviously go together and glue them to make larger pieces.
I had to remove his fabric fleece to glue him back together so the next step was re-gluing the fleece to the ceramic.
The cracks on his face we’re pretty obvious so I decided to go ahead and try to paint them to match.
As you can see I had to improvise the section that was smashed to bits in the fall. But I still think he came out cute. What do you think?
